Jewelry Care

Treat your handmade jewelry with CARE.

CARING FOR YOUR JEWELRY

Your Lady Antimony jewelry is hand finished and needs proper care and love.

Do not bath or swim with your jewelry on to ensure longer lasting polished finish. Metal can get scratched and scuffed. It's best to not wear your jewelry at the gym, washing dishes, sleeping etc. Just be mindful. Do not submerge your jewelry in water - especially if it has crushed stones afixed into it.

I strive to make every piece to withstand normal wear and tear with the best materials. Although accidents can happen. (See below in Repairs section)

MATERIALS AND PROCESSES

Metals may darken slightly over time. This is called oxidation. How long it takes, and how dark depends on the wearer's skin, and the environment. Metals can be brightened up again if oxidation occurs simply by wiping with a sunshine/polishing clothe.

I prefer not to use anything of the following materials- Plated materials, nickel silver, german silver, nickel, ivory, or lead.

The materials that I use are 925 Sterling Silver, Brass, or White Brass alloy which are not known to cause allergic reactions on the skin. I also use 10k gold and 14k gold alloys which are nickel free, and are not know to tarnish or discolor.

Stones that I may use include Opal, Turquoise, Diamonds, Lapis, Malachite, Rubies, Amethyst, Agate, Quartz, Tanzanite and Tourmaline. It's very important not to submerge opal in water, or expose your stones or jewelry to open flame, harsh chemicals or cleaners, or traumatic force. In extreme cases they can break, discolor, crack, or fall out. This includes diamonds. Just treat your jewels gently.

Jewelry is cast in White Brass, Sterling 925 Silver, Brass, or Bronze, and although I strive to make every piece as perfect as possible there still may be every so slight differences because everything is made by hand.
